Sondu Connect compared with Intercom
Intercom is superb software. Your busiest month is the one it charges you most for.
The best alternative to Intercom depends on whether a busy month should cost you more. Intercom is priced per person with its Fin AI charged per resolution on top, which suits software companies with a support team.
Sondu Connect is one price, €45 a month, with no per person charge and no per resolution charge, so the better your marketing works the less, not more, you notice it.
Your numbers, not ours
Work it out yourself.
Every figure below is yours to change. If the answer comes out in Intercom’s favour, the page says so.
Your inbox, this month
Everyone who answers a message. Owner, manager, front desk, the Saturday girl.
Intercom publishes in US dollars. Reported at 29, 85 and 132 a seat a month on annual billing for Essential, Advanced and Expert. Use the figure on your own quote, converted.
Not messages. Resolutions. An Instagram question answered at eleven at night counts as one.
Fin is billed on top of seats, widely reported at 0.99 per resolution. Confirm the rate in your own account before you trust this line.
Over twelve months
On these numbers Sondu is about €3,946 a year cheaper, and the bill does not move whatever the month does.
The models, side by side
Not features. Shapes.
Two things move on an Intercom bill: how many people you put on it, and how many conversations its AI resolves. The second one goes up when your marketing works, when you get featured, when December arrives. Put your own numbers in and watch the good month arrive with its own invoice. Over twelve monthsAdd ons and Copilotnot included Seats plus AI resolutions€0 Sondu Connect, one price€540 What we checked, 30 July 2026, from Intercom's published pricing page and from independent pricing guides rather than from an Intercom invoice: three seat tiers named Essential, Advanced and Expert, reported at 29, 85 and 132 US dollars per person per month on annual billing, with monthly billing reported higher at roughly 39, 99 and 139. Fin, the AI agent, is charged separately per resolution on top of seats, reported at 0.99 per resolution, with some guides also reporting a monthly minimum and a higher charge for a sales qualification. Intercom's own page shows the seat figures behind a billing toggle and states Fin from 0.99 per outcome. Sources disagree, per resolution rates and seat tiers change, and currency conversion moves the answer again, so confirm every figure in your own account. Sondu Connect is €45 a month plus IVA, flat, with no per person charge, no per resolution charge and no overage. Credit where it is due What Intercom does better than us. This is not a page about a bad product. Intercom is one of the most complete pieces of software in its category, and it has been for years. If the following sounds like your business, buy Intercom and do not let this page talk you out of it. Buy Intercom if this is you. Product depth we cannot match. Rules, routing, workflows, SLAs, custom objects, ticket types, workload management. Years of building, and it shows on every screen. We are a small product by comparison and we know it. One of the best support experiences in software. The messenger, the help centre, the way a conversation feels to the person on the other end. Very few companies do this as well, and plenty have tried to copy it. Product tours and onboarding. If you have an app and you need to walk a new user through it, banners, checklists, tooltips and tours are a real product inside Intercom. We do not have anything like it and we are not building it. Reporting. Volumes, first response time, resolution rate, CSAT, workload by teammate, cut any way you like. If someone in your business is accountable for support numbers, that person will want this. A huge app ecosystem. Hundreds of integrations, a proper API and a developer platform. If your stack is unusual, there is probably already a connector for it. Fin is genuinely good. It is one of the strongest AI support agents available, it resolves a high share of conversations on its own, and it is honest about what it does not know. Ours drafts and waits for a human. Theirs is further ahead. You have a support team. If more than a handful of people log in, if there is a rota, if someone owns the queue, then Intercom is built for exactly that and the per person model is the right shape for you. The models, side by side Not features. Shapes. Feature lists are easy to win by writing your own, and on a feature list Intercom beats us. What actually decides this is who each product was built for, and what happens to the bill when things go well.

Where they beat us
Buy Intercom if this is you.
Intercom is superb software with a depth we do not have. If you are running a support desk with a rota of agents, an SLA to hit, tours to build and a reporting suite to feed, buy Intercom. If you are three people with four inboxes, you would be paying for a machine you will never switch on.
Before you switch
The honest answers.
It depends on two numbers rather than one. Seats are sold on three tiers, Essential, Advanced and Expert, reported at 29, 85 and 132 US dollars per person per month on annual billing, with monthly billing reported higher. Fin, the AI agent, is charged separately per resolution on top of that, reported at around 0.99 per resolution. Published figures disagree between guides and change over time, so confirm both in your own account rather than trusting this page.
Because the AI is billed by what it resolves. If a reel does well, or you run an offer, or December arrives, the number of conversations goes up and the resolution charges go up with it. That is a sensible model for a software company where each resolution replaces a paid agent's time. It is an odd one for a salon, where the same busy week is the reason you had a good month in the first place.
At resolving conversations without a human, yes. Fin is one of the best AI support agents on the market and we are not going to pretend otherwise. Ours is built to a different rule: it drafts a reply in your voice from the knowledge base you approved, and a person reads it before a customer does. It never sends on its own. That is slower, and for a business where the owner's name is above the door it is the trade we would make every time.
Connect sits on the same database as the Sondu diary, so a conversation carries that person's next appointment, her deposit and her no show record. You can answer, decide and rebook without opening a second window. A support platform cannot bolt this on later, because it is not the system holding the appointments.
No. Connect works entirely on its own and plenty of businesses buy only Connect. The extra context appears if you also run Schedule or Reserve, and you can add either later with a fresh thirty days for that product.
When support is a job rather than something you do between clients. If someone owns the queue, if you need SLAs, routing, workflows and proper reporting, if you sell software and need product tours, or if you genuinely want an AI that resolves without a human reading it first, Intercom is the better product and we would rather say so now than take a subscription from someone who regrets it in March.
One flat fee, whatever the month does.
Thirty days free, no card at signup, and free migration from Intercom if you decide to move.
