Sondu Connect compared with Zendesk

Zendesk is built for a support department. Do you have one?

The best alternative to Zendesk depends on whether anyone in your business has support in their job title. Zendesk is priced per agent and built for support operations with a rota, an SLA and someone to configure it.

Sondu Connect is one price, €45 a month, whole team included, so putting the Saturday girl on the inbox costs nothing.

Your numbers, not ours

Work it out yourself.

Every figure below is yours to change. If the answer comes out in Zendesk’s favour, the page says so.

Everyone who needs a login. The receptionist, the manager, you, and the Saturday girl who covers the phone.

€55

Use the figure on your own quote. For reference, tiers are widely reported at roughly 19 for ticketing only, 55 and 89 for the middle plans and 115 for the professional plan, per agent per month billed annually, in US dollars. Local currency and country vary.

€50

The agent copilot is commonly sold as a per agent add on, reported at around 50 a month. Set it to zero if your quote does not include it.

If you turn the AI agent on, resolutions above your allowance are reported to be metered at roughly 1.50 each. Leave it at zero if you will never use it.

That single fact decides most of this. Every person you let near the inbox has a price on their head, and the AI is commonly billed on top, per agent or per resolution. Per agent per month billed annually is reported at about 19 US dollars for the ticketing only Support Team plan, about 55 for Suite Team, about 89 for Suite Growth and about 115 for Suite Professional, with Enterprise quoted by sales. The agent copilot is reported as a separate add on at about 50 per agent per month, and autonomous AI resolutions beyond a small included allowance are reported at roughly 1.50 to 2.00 each. Sources disagree on the middle tiers and on what is bundled, published figures are in US dollars, monthly billing is reported to cost materially more than annual, and annual billing assumptions change the figure. Treat all of it as an estimate and confirm your own quote. Sondu Connect is €45 a month plus IVA, flat, with no per person, no per ticket and no per resolution charge. Credit where it is due What Zendesk does better than us. This is not a courtesy paragraph. Zendesk is excellent, and on the things below it is not close. If any of these is a real requirement in your business, buy Zendesk and do not let this page talk you out of it. Buy Zendesk if this is you. You operate at scale. Hundreds of thousands of conversations, dozens or hundreds of agents, several time zones. Zendesk is engineered for that and we are not. You need routing and service level agreements. Skills based assignment, queues, priorities, escalation paths, breach timers and business hours per queue. We have one shared inbox. That is the whole design. Reporting and analytics matter to you. Their explore and reporting layer is a genuine analytics product: first response time, resolution time, agent performance, backlog, custom dashboards. Ours is a handful of numbers. You do workforce management. Forecasting, scheduling, adherence, quality scoring. If you run a rota against demand, that is a whole discipline Zendesk sells tooling for and we do not. You need the integration marketplace. Well over a thousand apps, plus a mature API and a sandbox. Whatever your stack is, something already connects. We integrate with a short and deliberate list. Procurement will ask hard questions. Certifications, audits, security reviews, uptime commitments, single sign on, data residency options, enterprise contracts and named account teams. Zendesk answers all of that on paper. We are a small Spanish company with EU hosting and honest documentation. You run voice as a real channel. Their contact centre offering handles telephony properly, with call recording, IVR and voice reporting beside the tickets. Connect does not do phone at all. The models, side by side Not features. Shapes. A feature list is easy to win when you write it yourself. What actually decides this is who the software was designed for, and how the bill behaves when your business changes.

Where they beat us

Buy Zendesk if this is you.

At ten agents or more with somebody to configure it, buy Zendesk. Its routing, reporting and integrations are built for a support department and ours are not. Below that, you are buying a department’s tooling for a front desk’s problem.

The honest answers.

For a small business with more than one or two people on the inbox, almost always, because Zendesk charges per agent and we do not. Connect is €45 a month plus IVA, flat, whoever logs in and however busy you get. For a single person on the cheapest ticketing only plan with no AI, Zendesk can work out cheaper, and the calculator above will tell you so. Check it against your own quote, because published figures are in US dollars and vary by country and by plan.

It is not overpriced. It is priced for a different customer. You are paying for routing, service level agreements, workforce management, an analytics layer and an enormous integration marketplace, all of which are worth the money to a support department. If you have four people who answer messages between doing other jobs, you are paying for capability you will never configure.

No, and this is a real difference. Zendesk can resolve conversations autonomously if you choose to let it, and it is billed per resolution when it does. Sondu drafts in your voice from the knowledge base you approved, and a human edits or approves every message before a customer sees it. If the answer is not in your knowledge base, the draft says the team will confirm.

Connect and Schedule sit on the same database, so a conversation carries that person's next appointment, their history, their deposit and their no show record, and you can rebook them without opening a second window. A help desk cannot bolt this on afterwards, because it is not the system holding the appointments.

Yes, and you should. There is no per person charge on any plan, so everyone who might answer a message can have their own login. That means no shared passwords, a name against every reply, and no quiet cost to putting the Saturday girl on the inbox for an hour.

In the European Union, hosted in Ireland, isolated per business. Sondu is a brand of FOX & WOLF CB, CIF E44679041, of Orihuela Costa, Alicante. If your procurement process needs certifications, audit reports and a signed enterprise agreement, Zendesk is far better equipped for that than we are and we would rather say so.
